Costmary

Chrysanthemum balsamita / Perennial

Costmary, also known as Bible Leaf and Alecost, has a wonderful spearmint-like aroma. It was used by settlers as Bible bookmarks that could be chewed on during lengthy services. The leaves were also used in England and America to flavor beer. Today, the primary use of costmary is in tea and herbal pillows and sachets. The low-growing broad leaves form a clump 2 to 3 feet across.
